A free spirit and adventurous filmmaker, Barbet Schroeder is often where you least expect him. After his Hollywood successes (Reversal of Fortune, Single White Female), he has now turned to documentary portraiture. He chose his long-time friend, the Argentinian painter Ricardo Cavallo, as his subject. A communicative and good-humoured character, the artist reveals his practice, shares his thoughts and, without ever seeming to do so, gives a veritable lesson in the history of art, which he communicates with passion.
